I’ve been participating in a workshop by photography virtuoso Yan Palmer called Teethkiss that has sort of changed my life…and along with it, my art. This was my first session since delving into it, and I feel like my work is taking on a different meaning. I’m seeing things more intentionally. Of course, there are still your more traditional family photos included in the gallery but this session focused around a little girl, whose parents adore her and who has the wildest, most beautiful hair. It is a depiction of childhood. The balance of being safely encircled in loving arms, and the freedom of roaming in an open field, throwing grass in the air and letting it fill you with the purest joy.
I love when a photoshoot has something inanimate as a major theme, unplanned. This session it was clover flowers. We had a laid back evening at a park, picking clover, watching the kids play as a family. I wish more … Continue reading →
This family. You guys obviously know from one glance that they’re gorgeous, but they have the sweetest hearts, too! Tiffany is one of my dearest, most thoughtful friends and I was so excited to get her and her family in front … Continue reading →
Can we discuss this adorable family for one sec? Mmkay. They’re funny. They’re beautiful. They chose to have photos in what is probably my favorite location ever. Their kids are brunette, blonde, and red haired…one of each! They made my … Continue reading →
This family started out primarily as clients and turned into friends. Watching their kind hearts in action as parents, watching parenthood come to both of them so naturally from the first 48 hours of both of their children’s lives has been … Continue reading →
A colorful, beautiful, lively family and a sweet baby girl all piled up together at home are perfect for any documentary portrait photographer. I just sat back as a fly on the wall and captured what was there, and it … Continue reading →
This is a first. This entire blog post is comprised of only black and white images, which I have never posted exclusively before. There were soft greens on the rolling hills and my sweet clients were impeccably dressed in teal … Continue reading →
This is one of my favorite families, and favorite shoots. Ever. I always look forward to their shoot each year because they like to shake things up, and I love an adventure! This year’s photoshoot took us to the Mojave desert to an abandoned movie set and a Joshua tree they decked out with Christmas lights and bulbs. I’ve always wanted to do that, and I’m so happy they have the same taste and made that dream a reality! This was the perfect cherry to top my 2016 photo year sundae, and I can’t wait to see what next year holds!
This is one of my favorite ever families, especially in front of the camera! Mix this kind, beautiful family (with a little one on the way!), some gorgeous greenery in the mountains, and the result is magic. I am so grateful for these return clients, and can’t wait to photograph them and their newest addition again soon!
